Microfat and nanofat grafting with Dr. Namin in St. Louis: restoring facial volume and skin quality naturally using your body's own tissue.

Restore volume. Improve skin quality. Rejuvenate naturally. Fat grafting is one of the most versatile techniques in facial plastic surgery because it uses your body’s own tissue to restore volume and improve the quality of the skin. Because the transferred tissue comes from you, fat grafting offers a natural way to enhance facial rejuvenation without synthetic fillers.

During the procedure, a small amount of fat is gently removed from another area of your body using a specialized manual liposuction technique. The fat is then carefully processed before being transferred to the areas that will benefit most.

Dr. Namin uses two different types of fat grafting, each with a unique purpose.

Microfat Grafting: Restoring Facial Volume

As we age, it is normal to lose facial fat, leading to hollowing of the cheeks, temples, under-eye region, jawline, and other areas of the face. Microfat grafting restores this lost volume using your own living fat cells.

Dr. Namin harvests the fat using a gentle manual technique designed to maximize the health of the fat cells. The processed fat is then carefully injected into specific areas of the face and neck with specialized blunt cannulas to create smooth, natural-looking volume and improve facial contours.

Because your own tissue is being used, the results often look and feel exceptionally natural.

Nanofat: Rejuvenating the Skin

Nanofat serves a different purpose than microfat. Rather than restoring volume, nanofat is used to improve the quality of the skin and soft tissues.

Although the fat is harvested using the same gentle technique, it is then processed until the mature fat cells are removed. What remains is a solution rich in regenerative cells and naturally occurring growth factors from your own tissue.

Dr. Namin carefully injects this solution into the skin using very small needles. Nanofat may help improve skin texture, skin quality, and overall tissue health, making it an excellent complement to facial rejuvenation procedures.

When Is Fat Grafting Performed?

Fat grafting can certainly be performed as a stand-alone procedure for patients seeking subtle facial volume restoration or skin rejuvenation. However, it is most commonly performed as an adjunctive procedure to enhance the results of other facial plastic and reconstructive surgeries.

Dr. Namin frequently combines fat grafting with procedures such as:

  • Deep plane facelift and neck lift
  • Brow lift
  • Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)
  • Rhinoplasty
  • Facial reconstruction following trauma or skin cancer treatment

By combining fat grafting with these procedures, both facial structure and skin quality can be addressed simultaneously, creating a more balanced, youthful, and natural result.

Is Fat Grafting Right for Me?

Every face ages differently, and every patient has unique goals. During your consultation, Dr. Namin will perform a comprehensive facial analysis and determine whether microfat grafting, nanofat grafting, or a combination of both would help you achieve the most natural and long-lasting result.

His philosophy is not simply to tighten tissues or add volume; it is to restore facial harmony while preserving what makes you uniquely you.
